Wintermute like their namesake, was created and basically "lives" on the Internet. Orginally part of the music revolution that was started by mp3.com, whose shockwaves to this day are still being felt by the recording industry to this day, Wintermute creates electronic and computer generated music that covered a wide variety of electronic genres and styles. Wintermute has a vast catalog of songs numbering in the hundreds. All songs are freely available and Wintermute has always allowed fans to have full access with full rights to burn and share their music. Wintermute was highly inspired by 70's Progressive Rock and as a result has always generated highly concept driven progressive music. Wintermute music storylines tend toward sci-fi with a very large number centered around William Gibson and the Cyberpunk sub-culture.
