The band was originally formed less than 4 years ago by singer/guitarist Alex Fraser and bass player Nick Waple who, whilst seeking new ideas in July of 2002, went knocking at the door of their soon to be drummer, Carl Hastings. The trio began to practice more and more regularly which soon developed into gigging around the South of England at venues ranging from London Astoria 2 (the Mean Fiddler) to student unions in Winchester and even the Isle of Wight. The constant gigging and practicing has helped develop the sound of What About Chad and create a marked improvement in demo recordings and musical ability.
