Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Ty Harrell was singing since his childhood but began his musical career in 1998 performing at the Au Pan Café with Jazz artist Pucci Amanda Jhones. After receiving Associate and Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration and Business Management from Johnson & Wales University and SUNY Old Westbury he performed more frequently. To broaden his horizons he then joined the New York Metro Mass Choir, a multi-faith, inter-racial ensemble, where he’s entertained audiences at Town Hall, The Winter Garden, Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, with the choir he’s sung behind some of the best in the business including dance diva Martha Wash, and singer songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman. As a solo artist he’s sung his self penned ballads at countless venues such as The Elbow Room, Soul Café, Club Groove, Downtime, Tammany Hall and The Bitter End.
