Introduced to music at an early age, Ty began playing the flute in elementary school. During these same years the shy 5th grader began taking the stage in musicals and performing in her local church youth choir. In high school she sang in theatre musicals such as "Carnival", and "Bye Bye Birdie". In love with musicals like "Carousel", "West Side Story", "Auntie Mame", "The Wiz", and "Grease", she watched many of them over and over learning and singing the songs. Over time, she began doing backgroung vocal work for other local artists of all genres of music gaining experience in the industry and developing her writing skills and confidence in her vocal gifts. These artists include Mose Stovall, Tiffany Hunt, Big Talk, Carmeletha, K. Y. Brigante, and many others.
