Travis This Scottish group first began as a joke in their hometown of Glasgow, Scotland. The members thought they would play once-in-awhile, but never venture to make music their career. Travis consists of Francis Healy (singer/songwriter), Andy Dunlop (guitar), Neil Primrose (drums), and Dougie Payne (bass). After the boys finished art school, they began to take Travis more seriously. In 1996, the re-located to London, England. That fall Travis released their debut EP, All I Wanna Do Is Rock, on their own Red Telephone Label. They caught the attention of Andy McDonald who used to work for Go! Discs. McDonald had heard Travis play before, and had wanted to sign the group when he was still working at Go! Discs, but has encountered problems with the organization’s parent company, PolyGram Records.
