Tom Waits first entered the music scene in 1971 at the age of 17. He was known as a very smart boy. His first album came as a big surprise. The album, titled CLOSING TIME was the exact type of music as the title says. The music if the type that one would close a bar with; very low-key and mellow, with brilliant musics. The album, which had such hits as ''Ol '55', 'Ice Cream Man', and 'Old Shoes'. The album was recieved with wild acclaim for this bright new boy wonder. In later years, to keep his music alive, Tom came out with THE HEART OF SATURDAY NIHT in 1978. A song on the album, the same name as the title, is said to be his best ballad ever. Tom even started writing scores for films, to show people the genius of his music over the silver screen. Tom has always been regarded as a prophet of music, and a genius of lyrics and the ability to use strage objects, such as garbage can's or blenders, to make music, much like Pink Floyd.
