Thrice was formed in Irvine, California by Dustin Kensrue (vocals, guitar) and Teppei Teranishi (guitar). The two members had previously been in a band together when they decided to break away and form Thrice. Dustin and Teppei formed Thrice in 1998 with bassist Eddie Breckenridge and Eddie’ older brother, Riley, as the drummer. The group released their debut EP entitled First Impressions in 1999; only three months after forming. The EP was more punk/rock related. Their later albums would become harder. The group made 1,000 copies and then they began touring Southern California. In 2000, Thrice released Identity Crisis on Greenflag records. They then went on a U.S. tour with AFI, Hot Water Music, Alkaline Trio, and Cave In. They soon after signed to Sub City records. Sub City went on to re-release Thrice’s previous recordings. They omitted the track, Madman, in March 2001. On February 2, 2003, Thrice released The Illusion of safety. The album was produced by Brian McTernan 9Hot... |
