Suzi Quatro occupies a unique postion in Rock 'n' Roll history as one of the first female Hard Rockers. True prior to Suzi's emergence in the early '70s there had been Janis Joplin & Grace Slick who could Rock pretty hard but their delivery was more Blues & Psychedelia oriented. Suzi however was the first woman to do straight up highly aggressive guitar heavy Rock 'n' Roll and achieve considerable fame doing so. Suzi had been rocking practically all her life. Born Suzi Quatrocchio in Detroit Michigan on June 3 1950 she formed The Pleasure Seekers with her older sisters while only 14 . Quite possibly one of the first Rock bands where women played all the instuments the group even played for the troops in Vietnam. By the early 1970s The Pleasure Seekers had disbanded with older sister Patti going off to join the band Fanny while Suzi formed a harder Rock outfit called Cradle.
