Deep within the discreet neighbourhoods of Ajax in Ontario, lingered an elite force of the world’s most distinct Punk-Rock bands around. Back in high school, the crazy Canadian foursome used to play in different bands and became rivals to each other. They began to join forces in 1996, 41 days into the summer, to spawn Sum 41 that included the ultimate vocals and guitar skills of Deryck Whibley (Bizzy D); the hard-core guitar of Dave Baksh (Brown Sound), the heavy bass strokes of Jason McCaslin (Cone) and the thrashing drum beats of Steve Jocz (Stevo 32). Jason got his nickname ‘Cone’ got his name in high school from eating an ice cream cone everyday at lunch. Sum 41 later caught interest with Island Records, and set-up a deal in the December of 1999. Sum 41 released their first EP ‘Half Hour Of Power’ including the ultimate singles ‘Summer’ and ‘Makes No Difference’ that led them to super gigs with The Offspring, Blink 182 and Social Distortion and with all these major line-ups, ... |
