Rooted in the era of glam-rock excess that was the early 70s, the music of Shandon Sahm puts the heart and honesty back into rock n’ roll. As the youngest son of Sir Doug Sahm, leader of country-rock pioneers The Sir Douglas Quintet and later of the groundbreaking Texas Tornadoes, Shandon Sahm is a longtime veteran of the music industry. Besides playing with his legendary father, Shandon established his own indelible musical mark recording, touring and performing as a drummer with artists such as Curt Kirkwood and the Meat Puppets, Gibby Haynes and The Butthole Surfers, as well as being a founding member of the highly influential Austin-based hard-rock outfit Pariah (Geffen Records) in the early 90s. Today, stepping out from behind the kit, Shandon embarks on a new journey with a campy solo endeavor. Seeking to inflame and entertain, the music combines the raw power of Iggy Pop with the showmanship of glam-rock icon Marc Bolan of T-Rex fame. Shandon describes his tunes as "... |
