Basically Serious Nubian is a one man band Instrumentalist musician in the studio,which is Marcus Davis,Composer/Electric Bass Guitar/Keyboards/Vocoder/Percussion/Drums/Drum Programming ,playing in musical styles ranging from Jazz,Funk,Blues,RnB,Latin,and Reggae grooves.Marcus was born in Hammersmith west London of West Indian heritage (St Vincent to be exact) Played in a variety of bands in the uk before moving out to Toronto, Canada at the invitation of one of his aunts.Played in a number of bands in Toronto,Roots Reality a Jimi Hendrix tribute band as well as play in a reggae band called Walin Souljahs.Has played in bands in Atlanta ,Georgia playing in an R&B review band (Manifest Destiny) and a Jazz quartet (The Bobby Coates Quartet)that played in Little Five Points before deciding to do the One man band thing at a friends suggestion.
