A three-piece break beat guitar band from Exeter, their music is a collection of up-tempo hyperspaceballads, that mix powerful female vocals, driving bass grooves and rocked out guitars, with programmed beats, lush soundscapes and soulful dub electronica. SELECTIV grew out of a studio project, begun at the end of 2005. They only started playing live in May, after being approached by promoters who had heard about their collaboration. The band brings together former members of Bliss, the Collectiv and the Invisible Opera Company of Tibet.
