Randall William Rhoads was born on December 6th, 1956, being the third and youngest child in his family. Raised by single mother, Delores Rhoads, Randy turned out to be a great person. He started playing acoustic guitar at age 6, where Delores signed him up for lessons. In her own time, she taught Randy to play the piano, so that he\'d learn to read music. He began playing electric guitar at age 13 with Delores\' old Harmony Rocket. She got Randy a personal guitar teacher, Scott Shelley, and they practiced together until Scott told Delores that he had taught Randy all that he knew. That year, Randy also met his very best friend, Kelly Garni. Kelly wanted to play an instrument because he spent so much time in Randy\'s musical household, so Randy taught him to play bass guitar. At age 15, Randy and Kelly formed the band Quiet Riot, but they didn\'t yet have a singer or drummer. When they were at a girl\'s, Hillary\'s, house, they heard of a singer called Kevin DuBrow.
