The Rain Parade were part of the eighties paisley underground scene. They wrote the sublime 'You are my Friend' - the greatest number one single that never was. They all looked like victims of Psi/mind control. Thats how good they were. When they split Mazzy Star was formed by founder guitarist with Hope Sandoval who looked like a mind control victim too. After founder guitarist left they managed to make the greatest E.P of all time - Explosions in the Glass Palace. Songs included the greatest number one that never was and also 'Blue'(about a girl friend of theirs who was raped), 'Prisoners,''Broken Horse,' No Easy Way Down.' I saw them in concert at the Sheffield Leadmill in England after 'Crashing Dream' was released.
