In 1981 the band founded as Queensr˙che was born consisting of Geoff Tate, Vocals, twin guitars, Chris DeGarmo and Michael Wilton, Bassist Eddie Jackson, and Drummer Scott Rockenfield. In 1982, merely a year old, they released their self-produced, self titled EP debut. After selling over 60,000 albums, record labels were falling all over themselves, to sign the band. EMI was chosen. In 1988 the release of Operation: Mind crime caused rockers all over the world to fall for the band, and the albums chilling story line. It was enormously Popular, but the following album released in 1990, Empire just about edged off the Operation. Empire’s popularity was Fueled by the hits “Silent Lucidity,” “Jet City Woman,” and “Another Rainy Night (Without You),” the album sold more than four million copies.
