Placebo is: Brain Molko- guitarist/vocals Stefan Olsdal- bass Steve Hewitt- drums Placebo by Brian and Stefan in 1994, London, England. Brian is part Scottish and American, but was raised in Britain. Stefan was origionly from Sweeden. The two did not officially meet until 1994 at a Burger King. They formed a band, but needed a drummer. So they went and found, Steve Hewitt, and Robert Schultzberg to be their two drummers. Although Molko and Olsdal wanted Hewitt to be their main drummer, Steve wanted to go back to one of his previous bands called Breed. So now their one and only drummer was Robert. After all that was taken care of, Placebo signed a contract with Caroline Records. They then relesed their first album in 1996. The self-titled album was a huge hit in UK. The singles, \\\"Nancy Boy,\\\" and, \\\"Bruise Pristine,\\\" were also huge hits. But even though they were sucessful right away, Robert felt as if he needed to leave the band.
