Nina Capone began her passion for music at an early age. A child prodigy, daughter of a talented vocalist and stepdaughter of the legendary Guitar player Ted Cohen of ‘Fat Larry’s Band’ who had two hits in the UK titled ‘Center City and Boogie Town’. In 1991 she began touring with Loni Gamble former guitar player for the “Stylistics” and 1984 recipient of two top Canadian Dance Music Awards who worked closely with Nina to hone her craft. Nina Capone formally known as Lay-D-Bug grew to local fame throughout the state of Pennsylvania, by performing at venues such as the Annual Unity Day Concert and the Pennsylvania prison tour with the band Sound Cheque. Nina continued to tour and perform her popular hit ‘Lay-D-Bugs in the House’ which she wrote and co-produced with a live band.
