Murphy Lee grew up in St. Louis, Missouri (the home of notable Dirty South rappers: Nelly, Chingy, and Ludacris). Growing up, the rapper never really thought he would be famous. Although always having a love for music, Lee was nick named “school boy” by friends because of his constant attention to his studies. Lee also hung out with his older brother KyJuan (who happened to be Nelly’s best friend). Before he even released his debut album in 2003, Lee had already made a name for himself by being featured on numerous hit albums. In 2000, he was featured on Nelly’s debut, 9x platinum album entitled Country Grammar. In 2001, Lee was featured on the St. Lunatics debut, platinum album entitled Free City. In 2002, Lee was featured on Nelly’s 6x platinum sophomore album, Nellyville. In 2003, Lee released his first album entitled Murphy’s Law. The album has been acclaimed by critics and fans alike.
