Moniques' musical career started in Classical Music while attending Baton Rouge High School. After graduation Monique attended Loyola University on scholarships. She was awarded The National Music Scholarship from the Department of Music and an Academic Scholarship from Loyola University. Monique has a degree in Mass Communication from LSU. With the help of Jim Vellutato of Sony/ATV Monique was given the chance to create her first pop CD. Jim knew Monique was a trained soloist in Classical music and he selected a producer that could give her songs an R&B flavor and this is how she met Ron Harris.
