She started playing music at age 22, I met her back in 1996, she was talking on a CB Radio and faked me out with her "English Accent" what a tease back then. Mary Lou had a voice that drew you in, you wanted to know more about her the more she talked. Way before she ever got signed to a major label, we had a date (she remembers) In 1993 I remember seeing her performing in the Boston Subway System, dressed rather shabbily. When you got within hearing range, there was always a crowd around her, not always tossing tons of change, but rather amazed that such a lovely sounding voice would be found in this venue. Mary Lou was always influenced by like Neil Young, Tom Rush, and other folk type artists, with a love for college radio and alternative as well. Mary Lou has had her up's and downs, a few years ago, in 1999 right after she got signed she was in rehab for a bit, then she had a baby.
