Marvin Pentz Gaye, Jr. was Born April 2, 1939, in Washington, D.C. He was the eldest son of a homely storefront preacher. The Reverned Marvin Gaye Sr. church was so severe, that it had strict regulations on no-drinking, no-dancing, no-nonsense.
