Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Columbus, OH. Mark John was influenced to music at the age of 3. He loved to play records. His mother would buy him records all the time because he love to pretend he was a radio disc jockey. He would spend hours playing records in his room so his mother had to set a time-limit because that's the only thing he love to do. At the age of 11 he started to play drums. He was very good at it. He never took any lessons, just played by ear. Mark always knew that someday he would be able to make an album. For years, he would play drums in church, but sometimes his pastor would rebuke him for playing too loud. One day his pastor made a suggestion to his uncle to form a group along with his cousins called The Clark Bros. At the age of 14, Mark and his cousins sang various songs by the Winans and Commissioned. They travelled across the state of Ohio and performed at various church gatherings.
