Born in Derby, England, the distinguished musical career of Marcia Ball began at the tender age of six, while receiving vocal training from her mother. At the time, mom was the main singer in the family, with Marcia and her sister providing backup vocals. Her childhood was influenced by different genres of music that was played in the home. In 1976, the family-formed group named “Rumbling Express” migrated to Florida and in 1982 the band went through changes and was later called “The Love and Desire Band” but the band disbanded a year later. Marcia’s dream of pursing a solo career never ceased. In 1982 while in high school, she entered a talent contest and won the first place trophy. When Star Search came to South Florida in 1985, Marcia again took first place. Her first single called “Tell Me” was released in 1990 on Rooney Records and this song was performed to a crowd of approximately ten thousand people at Miami’s Marine Stadium.
