Judge Jules was born in North London on 26th October 1965. Judge was a law student at LSE and began a long time association with Norman Jay. Judge and Norman promoted Shake n Fingerpop and Family Funktion together. This established them as a central figure of those Rare Groove days. They broke into abandoned warehouses to stage \\\"warehouse parties.\\\" Norman was the person who gave the title JUDGE to JULES. It was Normans fixed thought that here was a student he\\\\\\\'d met doing a degree in law that could only turn out to be a judge. When the police turned up at their illegal gatherings, it was Jules who had to provide outrageous legal blags to put them off the trail. Judge Jules sounded appropriate as his DJ name so the name stuck and his DJ career was born. Jules got into the House scene in 1986.
