My writer name is J P Charlie and my artist name J2B. I was born in the U.K. and spent my toddler years in West London from Ladbrook Grove to Hammersmith. I moved to Jamaica with my mother where I went to school there for a number of years then came back to the U.K. to continue my schooling. My high school years, I spent living in South London and from ever since I have always held West and South London close to my heart but not in a territorial way. More to the point of the community spirit especially in areas such as Harlsden and Brixton despite the labels this place is giving at times.
My music influences may be too much to mention so I shall keep it as brief as possible. I grew up listening to my elders playing music from artists such as Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Bob Marley, Burning Spear and many more from that era of reggae music to listening to Curiosity Killed the Cat, Simply Red, Phil Collins, and many more from that era.
