Ingrid D. Johnson is a Winnipeg-based published poet, spoken word recording artist, singer-songwriter, producer, social activist, social entrepreneur, and Filmmaker. Johnson wrote songs “Tired”, “My Soul”, “Alright”, “I Believed” and co-wrote “Only You”, “Move on”, and “Flo-Ing Energy” on R&B vocalist FLO’s self-titled debut album “FLO” (also available on CD baby). The album, which received 4 out of 5 stars in The Winnipeg Sun, The Winnipeg Free Press, and Winnipeg’s Uptown Magazine listed Johnson’s first song “Tired” as being one of the songs on the album that gave the album its diversity. Johnson says the song was inspired by a dream she had of Alicia Keys asking her the question, “if you could sing … what would you sing?” Her response turned into a boho-jazz creation that expresses the way she felt about intimate relationships at the time.
