Hybris began during the spring of 2006 in Murfreesboro, TN with the founding members Brandon Bell (Vocals), Chet Maynard (Guitar), Jody Thomason (Bass/Vocals) and John D. Miller (Drums). During the summer of 2006, Hybris added David Johnson on lead guitar, while Chet Maynard moved to rhythm guitar. With the addition of David Johnson, Hybris quickly wrote new material that would become the bands next album. In the spring of 2007, Jody Thomason decided to leave Hybris to focus on family, whereas he was quickly replaced by Charlie Wilson in the summer of 2007. Jody Thomason’s background vocals were replaced by John D. Miller. Charlie Wilson soon left Hybris during the fall of 2007 over personal matters not related to the band, and Chet Maynard moved from rhythm guitar to bass guitar. Our next addition happened during the spring of 2008, when our friend Jay Jewell stepped in on lead/rhythm guitar.
