The Hives consists of Swedish natives, Nicholaus Arson, Chris Dangerous, Dr. Matt Destruction, Vigilante Carlstroem, and Howlin’ Pelle Almqvist. The group formed in 1993 in Fagersta, Sweden. By 1994, they released their debut EP entitled Oh Lord! When? How? Soon after the release of their EP, The Hives signed to Burning Heart Records. In 1997, they released their first, full length album, Barely Legal. The Hives then embarked on their first United States tour. In 1998, The Hives released the EP, A.K.A. – I-D-I-O-T. In 2000, The hives reached mainstream popularity in the United States with the release of Veni, Vidi, Viscious. The album contained the billboard hits: “Hate to Say I Told You So” and “Main Offender.” The group’s popularity grew even more when renowned and respected artists Noel Gallagher (Oasis) and Courtney Love (Hole), praised the band’s work.
