A great passion for Jamaican music of the 70's, years in which the small Carribean islands hot summer nights were coloured by the growing rhythm of the rude boys and in which the first sound systems vibrated in never ending clashes, to todays tighter rhythms modernised by the contamination of hip-hop which reach out to all corners of the planet. This black culture is analysed in every aspect by the eight members of the band whos aim is to create an appealing sound and work on an international project. In 2005 Franziska started a new chapter of their musical evolution. During the 10-year existence of the band, their sound eveolved just like their genre had evolved in the broader timeline of musical history. Going from ska to rocksteady, Franziska have now reached their own, definitive form of reggae. It has clear allusions to the roots and traditions of this sound, but is nontheless aware of contemporary foreign influences, coming from Germany, the United States, and Jamaica itself.... |
