Frantik is a four piece Heavy Metal band from Boise, Idaho Frantik was formed in 1997 by Merlin Pursley (guitars, vocals), and Vinny Cleveland (drums), along with High School friends Kevin Overduyn (guitar), and Glen Kinde (bass). The band played shows throughout the year and in 1998 took first place at Bogies Annual Battle of the Bands. In 1999 Frantik entered the studio to record their first full length CD entitled "Homegrown" which was released in 2000. In 2001 Kevin Overduyn and Glen Kinde left the band due to personal reasons. During this time Merlin and Vinny continued to write new songs to add to the Frantik arsenal, and in late 2001 replaced the 2 former members with Mike Trull(guitar) and Brian Butler(bass). Since then Frantik has continued to write new material and entertain crowds with their highly energetic live shows, making new fans and delighting old ones with their aggressive style of Heavy Metal.
