Originally the Force MDS were a street troupe known as the LD's, the group sang and danced on Greenwich Village street corners and the Staten Island ferry...Its original members included brothers Stevie D and Antoine "TCD" Lundy, their uncle Jesse Lee Daniels, and friends Trisco Pearson and Charles "Mercury" Nelson. Then Steve and the boys hooked up with DJ Dr. Rock billing themselves as DR Rock and the MC's....However in 1984 is when everything all changed for the young aspiring hip hop/R and B band..This is when they were signed to Tommy Boy Records and changed their name to the Force MD's ( MD standing for musical diversity)..The group had numerous R and B hits throughout the 80's but their breakthrough album Chillin' the first record to be distributed by Warner Bros. under a deal with Tommy Boy, made the Force M.D.'s a major commercial entity, and with good reason.
