Grant Nicholas Taka Hirose Feeder was originally formed in 1992, but thew current line-up came together in 1995. Grant and John went to london and found Taka to play bass for them. The band soon signed to Echo and started touring and playing gigs. They also released a 'mini-album' called 'Swim' which contained six tracks and made a huge impression on the UK rock scene. With this album and lots more touring, the band soon gained many fans. In May 1997, the band released their first proper album, 'Polythene' which was voted Album of the Year by Metal Hammer. The album contained the singles 'Descend' and 'My Perfect Day'. That summer Feeder played mamy festivals across the country. One song that became the bands anthem, was 'High'. In spring 1998, the band interruped a US tour to come home and play 2 nights in london, despite Grant having a cracked jaw-bone.
