Born in Havana, Evaristo is a classically trained musician whose varied music career has taken him from performing solo guitar in underground clubs in the Cuban capital, to traveling the world as a lead singer in the company of Havana’s world famous Tropicana nightclub. His salsa career began when he moved to Milan, Italy, and continued in Toronto where he now makes his home. He started in Canada performing with the likes of Jane Bunnett and Hilario Duran, before forming his own band and recording his first independently produced CD, 'Luna del Barrio'. Taking a break from the hectic schedule of being a bandleader, Evaristo is developing material for a new project, combining Cuban rhythms with Latin pop, flamenco, reggae, and funk to create a brand new sound.
