After releasing his debut album "Can't Get A Break" in June 2004 which birthed the Boston anthem "MASSterpiece" and its hard-hitting follow up "Contagious." Then on January of 2005 with four additional tracks including the straight-forward "Real Talk", DL, short for Daniel Laurent, re-released "Can't...Break" to more fanfare and praise. But due to the packaging (slim line casing and glossy tray card), the release was somewhat panned off a "good mixtape" or a "hot demo." With the solid Self Made foundation already set, the questions of an "album" began surfacing and became louder as the months passed. With radio interviews, various venues played, numerous newspaper features and reviews, several mixtape appearances and the overwhelming public interest for a new DL album, it was evidently time to recreate. January 2005, Daniel Laurent began working on his follow up and started piecing together the pieces ... |
