DIXIE CHARM has had a crazy habit of writing songs since she was a school girl accompanying green hi-top sneakers with her uniform! Where most girls wrote diaries, drew abstract pictures and gossiped to their friends over nachos in the park, DIXIE would put her experiences into very personal songs that she hid under her bed in a shoe box marked "THING." Of course, these songs were set to the vintage nylon-string guitar her dad got for 80 bucks, and she still uses this guitar. Although musically she has evolved phantoms beyond her inner city school days, her freestyle story-driven songwriting approach still very much reflects her well-traveled early life, literate personality, keen everyday observations and love for the rough and smooth sides of humanity.
