Diana krall was born on the 16th of November 1964, Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada. Brought up in a musically oriented family she would teach herself to play Fats Waller recordings. She would not only learn to play the tune but to sing all the song at the same time. She was taught to play the piano during school time but the Jazz came out when she played along with the school band. The first gig came at the age of 15 and has been touring and playing since then. After successfully winning a scholarship in Jazz at Berklee College of music she returned home to carry on her playing career. Soon her musical associates Ray Brown and Jeff Hamilton impressed by her ability convinced Krall to go to LA. There she studied and shaped more to a singing style of performance as before she was nervous of her own voice. Because of this new confidence in herself, more opportunities arose and bigger and better venues were available to her.
