DusJohn Williams was born November 8th in Passaic, New Jersey. He and his mother moved to Detroit when he was four years old and has been a resident ever since. DusJohn, pronounced Du-Shawn, graduated from Northwestern High School. He grew up in the area of McGraw and 23rd Street where he currently ministers as Assistant Pastor of Temple Immanuel Church.
DusJohn has a great sensitivity for people, especially for the youth. His desire is to make a positive and influential impact on their lives through musical ministry. He has worked as a Youth Service Worker at Calumet Detention Center dealing with young men who are incarcerated as juveniles. He no longer works there but he still goes there as well as other Juvenile Facilities to minister and share his talents of Gospel Rap. DusJohn has recently self-published a story of his testimony called “Silence” which deals with his suffering through sexual abuse as a child, within the Church. In all his messages healing is always the main focus, God’s awesome healing power. His music is a testimony of praise, encouragement and strength.
DusJohn has ministered through Gospel Rap at the following places: In Detroit’s Hart Plaza, Lansing, Flint, and Brighton, all in Michigan. He’s also ministered in Chicago’s Black Women’s Expo, Mississippi, and Manhattan, NY just to name a few. He is often called upon for youth Revivals and Church concerts.
Mr. Williams is a happily married father of nine, General Restaurant Manager, Assistant Pastor and President of the Lighthouse Community Center, which is a faith-based Non-Profit Organization. He travels to various Youth Events to spread the gospel.
