Cindy Lu was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey surrounded by music. She grew up singing in her church and school choirs, and since her father and brother were both musicians, her home was always filled with music. She listened to Roger Miller’s "King of The Road, Count Basie & His Orchestra, Frank Sinatra, Barbara Streisand, Blood, Sweat & Tears, James Taylor, Carole King and Bonnie Raitt. Cindy Lu's music was greatly influenced by her faith and her family, and she spent many years singing a variety of music, including classics, oldies, showtunes, gospel and pop. In 1996, on the advice of a friend, Cindy Lu tuned into a country music radio station. She was instantly hooked! A "country convert" had been born! Cindy Lu started singing country songs and for the first time in her life, she felt as though her voice had "finally found a home."
