A great acoustic rock base with an infectious folksy-psychedelic feel. That’s the sound of Charlie West. Drawing influences ranging from early Pink Floyd to present-day Wilco, multi-instrumentalist Charlie West lends credibility to the singer-songwriter genre. For nearly 20 years, West has been delivering his unique style, combining hypnotic acoustic with electro/psych guitar, while blending melodic sounds with abstract thoughts. In 1988, West’s only vinyl release Wasted Time, recorded under the pseudonym “Chazz”, was in heavy rotation at college radio stations in Maryland, D.C. and Virginia. This out-of-print album still can be found at used record stores and online music stores. West performed locally as a solo artist and in a variety of bands between 1989 and 1993, after which he took to the studio. The 2001 release, The Charlie West Temporary A.M.
