Formed in New Jersey in 2003 by Ko, C.J., Otto, and P.S.R., Brokensoul are a turbulent metal band with progressive insight, alternative temperament, and gothic afflictions. A deep onslaught of 7-string guitar rhythms, depraved solos, bastardized time signatures, and macabre lyrics are the group’s specialty. The songs reflect on the lascivious side of human nature. Obsession, addiction, betrayal, and revenge are pervasive topics that are delivered with the wanton anguish of a repentant sinner. Ko brings his progressive metal influences to the caldron having previously worked with rock monsters like Rod Morgenstein, Jordan Rudess, and Dream Theater as a technical advisor/engineer. Kosaku also has engineer credits on Liquid Tension Experiment’s 2 CD’s that feature Tony Levin with members of Dream Theater. Ko is a guitar player who is not afraid to experiment and take risks.
