Its four members come together with different tastes and influences, which combine to form their unique style of music. With so many influences coming together, the band is able to achieve a variety of different sounds while staying true to their approach.Sean comes from a background of 80’s rock with training in jazz guitar playing and vocals which have been compared to the sounds of Staind, Tool, and Metallica. Jace brings to the table a love for rock and old school punk. He is a versatile bassist, able to play with the speed of punk rock, or with the elegance of classical music. Matt has heavy influences from the guitars of modern rock and modern punk. Within Broken Monk compositions you can catch his use of effects and trademark octave slides over the fretboard.
