Boyzone's first ever appearance was on Gay Burn's the late late show, swinging their hips to the backing track "Burn baby burn" was the first ever appearance from the Irish five some. The band was materialised in 1993 when a young Irish lad by the name of Shane Lynch decided to put together an Irish boy band. He collaborated with manager Louis Walsh and started to audition members for the band. Six members were chosen from the thousands of lads that turned up, due to over pressure and un cooperative members six became four. A stand by member was then called up to re audition and all of the lads agreed that these were the boys who were going to make it big. Five young Irish boys set out for super stardom; Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Keith Duffy, Shane Lynch and Mikey Grayham became Boyzone. Their first single “Love me for a reason” was released in 1994 and smashed into the charts breaking little girls hearts! They won the Smash Hits award for best newcomer in 94’ and ... |
