BIO: Dynamic Duo The Mic With a name that says it all (Mike Starink), it is easy to see that The Mic is a STAR-with the-INK. Since the tender age of 10, Mike has been writing lyrics and had a strong love and respect for music. Growing up to the sounds of Motwn, Michael Jackson, Barry White, Rod Stewart, Queen, and Billy Joel to name a few; Mike’s influences are as vast as the universe itself. It wasn’t until the winter of 2001, that Mike discovered his skill as an MC. Starting out spitting lyrics on street corners with friends, the praise for his vocabulary and vocal delivery pushed him to chase a dream in Hip Hop. Unfortunately, with hundreds of other white rappers coming out the woodworks, and a year later movies like 8mile influencing even more to take on the delivery of verbal diarrhea, Mike had to look deeper into his career goals.
