A British band formed in 2004 under the name 'The Pieces'. The original line-up was Liam Oakley on vocals, Hakim Ismail on guitar, Edmund Lewry on Bass and Harry Lloyd on backup guitar. At this point they had no drummer, so skillfull guitar work was essential, which was well supplied by Hakim, who was talented at playing guitar. The Pieces played a single show in 2004 in the Winston Churchill talent show. (where they were billed as 'the peices') They played a single song, a cover of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. They paid a pound to enter, but, controversially did not place. (3rd prize = £5, 2nd prize = £10, 1st prize - £20) After the show, they got rid of Harry and put Archie Stephens on drums. Archie only came to one practice, and didn't even play drums on that occasion. It was at this point the newly named 'The Swarm' started to play some original songs.
