ASK is Angel Sophia Krasnegor. She is adept at guitar, bass, keyboards, mandolin, harmonica, trumpet and shiny red bongoes. Her music was first informed in the womb, as her mother worked for Capitol Records. Her father, a singer once signed with Liberty Records, had a voice like Elvis & looks to match. Together, her parents spawned the likes of ASK. ASK began writing her own music at the wee age of 12. She took up piano at age 9 & guitar, also at 12. Presently, she's putting the finishing touches on her next album, her 5th. Influenced heavily by Bob Dylan, Robyn Hitchcock & Syd Barrett her songs feature a wry wit and quirkiness that are her hallmarks. Loathe to sing mushy ballads, she instead has written songs about frogs, candy, crappy drivers, etc. But there are the crop of pissed off, Dylanesque, finger-pointy songs, too. But even when pissed off, her music is still warm & inviting, like a cup of cocoa or a bubble bath on a cold day.
