Apriaca, from Carinthia/Austria, was founded by Johannes Jakober, Dominik Sauper, Anton Pichler and Manuel Manges in the year 2005. At that time it was just a bandproject that plays Metal- and Rocksongs with acoustic guitars. In spring 2006 the band heard about a national Bandcontest, and along the lines of “nothing left to lose” the band took part at it. They grabbed their electric guitars and wrote three songs out of the material of Dom’s and Jak’s former bands. Three months later and kind of astonished they found themselves in the final round of that band contest and they got a lot of positive criticism. During summer they concentrated on writing new songs for their first studio album, which they wanted to record in autumn 2006. Finally, in september the boys entered the studio and under the working title „Four maniacs, one passion“ their first CD was recorded.
