Amber is a six-piece band that creates mellow, understated, acoustic music which crescendos into a variety of instrumentally led sections that fully utilise the musical dexterity of the group. Originating from East Anglia, the band met in College and formed Full Service History. Playing the odd gig here and there, the band started to form some idea of musical direction and began writing. With a swift dip into the name Hoax, Amber was finally born and the band gained some recognition by gigging around the area and continued to write for an upcoming recording. Their first EP, ‘Played Inside’ (Summer 2004), was an album strongly influenced by the singer-songwriter style; creating melodies around a guitar to create a pop-like sensibility that is especially felt in ‘Nature Boy’ and ‘On the TV’.
