Allen Brown Like a character out of a country song, Allen Brown moved to Nashville from a tiny Texas town in an old Ford truck with a secondhand guitar and a sack full of songs, dreams, and family tradition. Brown is the third generation country artist in his family – his grandfather Arvil Pritchett played harmonica for Ernest Tubb on the Texas circuit for years. “Ernest Tubb wanted my grandfather to come to Nashville with him, but my mother was a baby at the time, so he decided to stay in Texas with his family. My grandfather went to his grave with that unanswered question of ‘what if’? I vowed to him that I would not live with the same unanswered question.” For Brown, the answer to that question was not an easy one. He faced three choices: join the Texas circuit of touring bands with the likes of Tommy Alverson and Rusty Weir, follow in the footsteps of many legends and unknowns before him and move to Nashville, or give up music altogether.
