Alice Stuart has been given The LifeTime Achievement award by the Washington Blues Society and considering that she is one of the first rock women to form her own band, play her own music and play lead electric guitar, it is a well deserved award. Today Alice's band is The Formerlys and they have a recently released CD, Freedom, on Alice's country con fusion label. Alice's band was voted 'best new blues band' by the WBS in 2006. And with the release of Freedom, Alice Stuart and The Formerlys show they are not just another blues band. Their music ranges from folk and country tribute songs to original ska songs. Alice Stuart have always been fun to discover and with FREEDOM its true again.
