The Adicts; Pete Davison 'Pee Dee' on guitar, Mel 'Spider' Ellis on guitar, Kid Davison (Pete's younger brother)on drums, Tim Hocking on bass, and 'Monkey' Warren on vocals. One of the greatest british punk bands to ever exist, formed in 1977 as The Afterbirths, then, changed their name to Pinz (after having their first gig in a scout hut in Aldeburgn, Suffolk). After that, changed their name to The Addicts, though, that name was taken, so they decided to change the spelling of Addicts to one d instead of two d's(bringing them problems, for the press judged them of being illiterate). For the following two years, The Adicts did a few gigs, though, they weren't all that great due to the lack of venues in the areas. All up to August 18th 1979 in their first London gig at the Breakneck in Camden. Signing up with Dining Out label (who were at their first gig) and produced a 4-trak ep called "Lunchtime With The Adicts" in September of 1979. That 4-trak sold more than 10,000 copi... |
